How I grew my LinkedIn page from 0 to 50,000 followers

July has started with new beginnings. And with new beginnings, I have grown my LinkedIn community to 50 K followers.

I want to share 7 things I learnt in my content creation journey on LinkedIn till now.

The first time I decided I will start posting content on LinkedIn, I was scared.

I had thought of being judged, of doing things the wrong way.

Creating content on LinkedIn was my ways of improving my craft after restarting my career.

I started writing consistently, ignoring the inner voice of being judged. I wrote anyway.

  1. I started observing my favourite content creators closely — Hardik Lashkari and Shreya Pattar. These two people I have observed throughout my journey.
  2. I worked on my profile and copywriting skills. Your about section is your real estate if you want to generate leads. Many writers who call themselves “writers” fail to write it the right way. I used all 3000 character limits to write my about section. Again, I observed a variety of people. From international coaches to influencers and improved my about section over time.
  3. I started building relationships through comments. Comments are powerful. Not just saying “this post is great” but sharing my experiences in comments helped me start those genuine conversations.
  4. Writing whatever I want helped me in the initial stages but what about content marketing and inbound leads? You don’t get it just by creating ‘fluff’ content. I started learning and observing more about the type of content that works and the type of content that my audience likes.
  5. I met some amazing people on my LinkedIn journey. Some of them are people who I am mentoring, some are friends and some of them are my clients. The real gold lies in building relationships with them.
  6. For a long time (sometime even now), when my content does not reach plenty of people, if people even read my content. But you know what, whatever you post, people are watching you. They might not tell but they are.
  7. I started being active on DMs. I started helping people. And just like that, people started coming to me for help. What you give to people comes back to you. I believe in the law of attraction. Do you? I started giving my knowledge for free.

Growing on one platform takes time, consistency and valuable content.

When you learn to balance all of them, you have learned the art of content creation.
