“Hey Nidhi, can you tell me how can I distribute my Medium blog on LinkedIn?”

..So you wrote a new Medium blog.

Medium suggested you to share your blog on social platform to drive traffic.

You chose LinkedIn.

You hit the share button.

You shared the link to your blog.

Closed the app.

And it’s all done!

How many times have you used this traditional content distribution strategy to promote your Medium blog on LinkedIn?

I have seen many people use it. I’m among those people too.

But here’s what where you and me, we both make blunder — you share your blog once and then..

FORGET as if the blog doesn’t exist anymore.

As a writer, you write content but as a marketer, you promote your blog.

Once. Twice. Thrice……nth times.

Countless times.

To promote it multiple times without creating boredom among your audience, here are 4 content distribution strategies:

1. LinkedIn groups

Have you heard experts tell you, “LinkedIn groups are dead?” If yes, then let me tell you — LinkedIn groups helped me drive traffic to my last Medium article massively.

To share your blog on medium groups, join relevant groups.

For example, if your blog revolves around marketing and entrepreneurship, you can join business groups who have their audience : founders, entrepreneurs, marketers.

How to use it?

Write a hook that adds entices the reader to read your article.

Once you have added the hook, add the link to your article and share in all the relevant groups you are part of.

2. Share as LinkedIn articles

Writing LinkedIn articles is a great way to get eyeballs on your blog from your LinkedIn audience.

How to use it?

Take a section of your blog you like the most. Write it as LinkedIn article.

Give the call to action -> Mention “to read a full blog, click here” and hyperlink it to your Medium blog.

You have diverted the traffic from LinkedIn to your Medium blog

3. Write a text post on LinkedIn

Text format is among the most lovable content formats on LinkedIn.

How to use it?

Instead of attaching link to your article in the post, write a personal story behind the blog, or the key takeaways that people will get after reading that blog.

Now, share the link to your Medium blog in the first comment of your post.

4. Create interactive carousel post

What’s the meat of your blog? Actionable tips you shared in a blog? Do’s & don’ts?

How to use it?

Use the section from your blog you think could help your readers and create a carousel post using Canva. Download it as a PDF document and share it on LinkedIn with introductory text lines. Now, direct the readers to read the entire article and attach the link to your blog.

What can you do next?

Look through your best-performing Medium blogs and do this:

  • On the first day: Write 3 key takeaways from the blog. Share it on your LinkedIn feed. Share it in all the LinkedIn groups you are part of
  • Fourth day: Write a text post -> Add link your blog in the comment section
  • Eighth day: Design a carousel -> Add link to your blog in the comment section
  • Fifteenth day: Take 2 to 3 sections of your Medium blog and write it as LinkedIn article link it to your Medium blog

Repeat, repurpose and grow your blog.
